Instructions for setting up the: LOGIC CONTROLS CR3003 USB CASH DRAWER

System Specific: MPOS Version 6,7

Resolution:

# 1. Go to Logic Controls website at www.logiccontrol.com

# 2. Go to Support & Downloads tab.

# 3. Choose software under cash drawers & select Open.

# 4. Double click on HidCom Inst file & choose Extract All.

# 5. Click Next & Save files to desktop (create folder called cash drawer).

# 6. Close Web browser.

# 7. Plug in cash drawer (computer should acknowledge).

# 8. Run HidComInst & allow computer to restart itself.

# 9. Go to Device Mgr to find port & then close out.

(Control Panel-Systems-Hardware-Device Mgr-Port)

#10. Double click on CR3Edit & Write Comm.

#11. Open MPOS & go to Optional Hardware Setup (from Setup Wizard).

#12. Select USB Cash Drawer & port found in step 9.

#13. Save.

#14. You Can test by clicking "Open Cash Register" button.

#15. Exit.

#16. Save & Finish.

Note: For security reason, it's recommended that the programming utility

software should not be copied onto the cashier station computer to

avoid unauthorized change of the opening codes.

Instructions for: CHANGING & DELETING EMPLOYEE TIPS IN THE DATABASE AND REPORTS

System Specific: MPOS Version 6,7

Resolution:

To change or remove an item you can use Management tools - Edit Cash Register and delete the whole ticket, which will remove the tip data. If you wish to edit the tip data you should enter Management tools - Edit Cash Register - Advance Mode. Then select the smp.mdb database and select the table Tips you can now edit the data directly.

Resolution:

To deactivate this option from the main screen select "Setup Wizard" - "Security" then add the option "Customer Add" this will remove the * from address and phone fields.

Instructions for setting up the: MANUAL INSTALL STAR RECEIPT PRINTER & CASH DRAWER

System Specific: MPOS Version 6,7

Resolution:

Insert MPOS disc and browse the disc contents. Plug your star printer into the computer and make sure the power is on.

Insert paper making sure the shinny side is facing you.

From the CD Select the folder "Star Windows Driver".

Copy executable file to desktop

Close out MPOS disc windows.

Paste file on desktop & double click on it.

Say "OK" to message box & select printer model & port.

Hit long button saying "Extract Files for Install via Windows Add Printer Wizard".

Say "Yes" and "OK". Now exit box.

From windows start menu go to Control Panel.

Then select either Printer & Other Hardware OR Printer & Faxes.

Use Add Printer function to active Add Printer Wizard.

Select Next.

Deselect box to Automatically Detect & Install My Printer.

Select Next. Verify port selection and hit Next.

Select HAVE DISK when asks for Manufacturer & Model info.

Select Browse & select Desktop. Browse as follows then hit OK:

Star folder-Star Ras-oemprint

Select Model Number & Next.

Yes/No to default printer status.

Say Yes to test page then hit Next & Finish.

Next select "Continue Anyway" & wait for loading to finish & window to disappear.

CONFIGURATION ------------------------------------------

Right click on Star Printer just installed & go to Properties.

Select tab for Raster Print Options/Printer Options/Device Settings.

Activate cash drawer by selecting Document Top or Document Bottom for drawer timing.

Hit Apply & return to General tab to print Test Page.

**If drawer does not pop reverse cable that runs from cash drawer to receipt printer.***

**Make sure it is Star cable and NOT a regular telephone cord!!!!********

INTEGRATION ------------------------------------------------

Go to Setup Wizards & select Receipt Printer Setup.

Select 3" printer format & select printer just installed for Receipt function.

Select save and use Next to advance 2 screens to Optional Hardware setup page.

Make sure no boxes have been checked for cash drawers & msr reader is using text option.

Save & finish.

Instructions for setting up the: IB USB Finger Print Scanner

System Specific: MPOS Version 7

Resolution: Once you plug your device in it should attempt to install the drivers needed to run the scanner. If you have MPOS 7.0.1 or above installation disk simply insert the MPOS disk and browse to the folder labeled "IB Finger Scanner USB Driver" you can then select the requested driver file. Or run the "USBfpDriverInstall.exe" file to install the drivers. If you do not have your installation disk you can download the drivers here ibdrivers.zip
